The Chillout Lounge Mix - Bliss

Another extended mix full of blissful music and an extra energy boost for the year ahead.

The ever blissful Enhanced Music does a lot of the heavy lifting in this mix… Faodail stuns once again on Enhanced Chill, following up his previous outings 'Úr' and 'Parallel' with a sublime collaboration with Barcelona-based duo PALLADIAN. Hasui is mesmerising in its construction: against a backdrop of nature sounds and an ethereal soundscape of chopped, dreamy vocals, we're met with a shuffling rhythm section and organic, muted bells. With soft but expressive melodies and an elegant blend of acoustic and electronic elements, Faodail and PALLADIAN strike gold on this latest offering. American producer Blugazer weaves together a collage of ethereal elements to make his latest single Aurora's Thin Veil a must-listen. Carried forward by a well-crafted drum section and tight, sub-focused bass, a serene vocal comes in and out of view while a smattering of synth lines compete for attention. It's a gorgeous composition that you won't want to miss, here from Blugazer. Colorize is delighted to present the first full length EP from Finnish producer DJ Datskie. Since his first release on the label in 2022 he has perfected his graceful melodic house sound and now it comes together in the form of a dazzling seven-track EP. His distinct melodic focus is always present throughout the project, giving it a singular and at once sonically cohesive vibe. He also recruits a range of talented collaborators to lift the EP's tracks to lofty heights, including Moana, Moon Kyoo, Artemis Orion, Jordin Post and Mats Westbroek. A few words from Datskie: 'Melancholiphoria is a reflection on how there are two sides to every experience. Whereas euphoria is uncomplicated and powerful, melancholic music can access deeper and more complex states. These two states of mind exist within each other, and together they create a somber yet safe feeling: bliss in insignificance, bittersweet existentialism.' Circulation (Stripped Recordings) gets a sublime remix by Tulshi on his track Glitch, a track I can imagine sneaking into one of Sasha’s sets. Swiss DJ/producer Reto Erni (Bondage Music) broke onto the global scene in 2019 with a series of releases on Framed Realities, a label he started with friends, Squep and Christian Schiemann. Floats snappy percussion and a low-slung bass with deep stabs and spoken vocals complete the vibe which grooves with consummate ease. Warm and creative with a hint of nostalgia. M.O.S. share their new double-single Graycloud / When Cicadas Quiet Down. Predominantly known for their flair for Organic House, M.O.S. are no strangers to the Anjunadeep labels, first debuting in 2019 with collaborative double-single Volga / Bengali. They have since released two esteemed EPs on Anjunadeep, La Sonnette and Orchidea, as well as singles via the Anjunadeep Explorations compilation series. Graycloud was premiered earlier this year via Anjunadeep 15 in May, selected by James Grant and Jody Wisternoff, and is now paired with the uplifting When Cicadas Quiet Down. 3rd Avenue continue to bring the bliss with Lenaa - Love Me and Jean Caillou - Agartha consistently great music here. Tiefstone brings an unstoppable groove with rumbling bass with Persistence on Colorize. Dropping his debut single on A Tribe Called Kotori next is Vienna's Stefan Obermaier with the lush and dreamy rolling house number, Cala. “While Stefan's been on our radar for a while, we're now psyched to welcome him to the fold with two cuts that ooze a perfect balance of dreamy escapism and deep, dance-floor-ready uplift.” On the imprint's latest, Oath takes the vibrations right-up into the slipstreams via Elfenberg's latest slice of proggy, euphoria-driven excellence. Elfenberg has become a well-known figure within dance music spheres for his expertly crafted and otherworldly chugging sound. Taking cues from a wide variety of influences, Elfenberg's music slots in very nicely within the most celebrated of trance-laden progressive house and techno - with his signature twist always allowing for a few surprises along the way. The superb and sublime label by Madraas, Where The Shadow Ends welcomes Devaloka with the Kraskami EP, enjoy a 3-track delight. One of my partners in musical rhyme Chris Zippel nails it again with Sands and Troon (Fusion Mix), Chris always produces with flow, style and grace. Born from sound experimenting sessions during a sojourn in Quito, Ecuador, Decay was Lassjo's first incursion into the world of electronic music production. Geared up with a Polybrute, ARP Odyssey and software solutions, the German producer rapidly found his cruising pace as he aimed to translate that "connection between air and earth" into sound he says. Indeed, Decay operates as a hybrid chugger, light-footed and down-to-earth in equal measure, combining a funky swing with ethereal synth chords cascading like pixelated drips over a quiet bed of liquid electronics. Like entering a reinvented mystic forest where glassy membranes, textured stabs and lushly iridescent foliage of sound directly evoke that of the original green setting's soothing atmosphere. Croquet Club follows up the release of his debut album Fugue In Twilight with a selection of instrumentals, taking the title track, Slowly, Swirl, and Mother Earth into new chill out worlds. The album is slow-moving and reflective; created free of ego, comparison, chasing and striving. It’s a compelling and cinematic body of work that will cement Croquet Club’s reputation as a gifted, authentic and unique electronic music producer. Classically trained composer and producer, Stelios Vassiloudis returns to Anjunadeep’s sister downtempo imprint Reflections with a ten minute ambient electronic soundscape presented in three individual parts, titled Don’t Let Go. Signing to Sonar Kollektiv marks an important moment in Magro’s career as it’s sure to bring his distinct but hard to pigeonhole, international sound to a new audience of music lovers with a broad palette. Magro’s debut EP for the label provides a tight snapshot of his mellifluous sound. The Tokyo Tree EP, and its title track, like the Japanese cherry blossom, marks a spring-like rebirth for the producer. French vocalist, producer and composer Oklou announces debut album Choke Enough via True Panther. Oklou’s debut album was developed with co-producers Casey MQ, Danny L Harle and A. G. Cook, and features Bladee and underscores. The album is a reflection on the subconscious and conscious demands of an artistic psychology, as well as existing and creating in a brief and transient life. “Himmelsandar isn't really something new. Then again, I wonder if there ever has been or will be anything new from this stream of awareness and emotion that I call Purl. It somehow seems to me like everything essential was present from the beginning, and I'm not sure if anything has been added to it since. I dream of starting new projects; painting on a blank canvas again. But nothing here was painted on such a canvas. Everything was painted and repainted, so many times that the original idea may no longer be distinguished other than as the faintest wisp of something... ethereal.” Graffick and Mollotone kindly shared a superb unreleased track called Wasting for the grand finale of this mix, if you’re a quality label get in touch with them asap and sign them up!
